ABOUT THE ARTIST

June Ricklefs acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
She has been painting for several years in watercolour. Her subject matters are landscapes and florals,
and she has also done several portraits, still lifes, and animals and birds, both domestic and wildlife.
Canadian landscapes, especially wilderness areas, are often depicted, as well as scenes from
other countries.
She began an artists' group in 2002 called the Prairie River Artists in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
The group of 15 meets from September until April and then puts on an annual Show and Sale in April.

Saskatchewan Government Insurance purchased rights to reproduce one of her paintings, "Rough Crossing at
Stanley Mission,  Saskatchewan" for its 2007 calendar, and also purchased an original painting, "A Walk in the Bog"
for its corporate collection.

June Ricklefs is a recently juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council and plans to exhibit and sell
her work at SCC venues. She has displayed and sold several original works and also sells reproductions
and greeting cards.

I have had reproductions made of several of my original paintings.

A Walk in the Bog
Canada is a country of wondrous scenery
and I have had the opportunity to travel to
and paint many of its beautiful landscapes.
I
particularly enjoy the wilderness areas.
There
is always something to appreciate
and enjoy
and I am always striving to
capture the
essence in my paintings.

FOREIGN LANDSCAPES

A Windy Day at Cassis
Travel with me to see some

FLORALS
A Burst of Sunshine
The painting of flowers is a joy. Exploring
the shapes, shades and shadows of their beautiful colours makes painting them an
adventurous journey.

WILDLIFE

Keeping Watch
Wildlife is always an interesting subject
matter. From watching parents care for
their babies to getting a glimpse of them
as they live their lives in the wild gives a new dimension to my paintings.
